In Science we have started a new unit on Natural Resources. What better way to learn about Earth's Natural Resources that to play with soil. :) For this experiment the kids were exploring with Sandy Soil, and Potting Soil. Each group got two plates of soil. One with regular Potting Soil, one with Sandy Soil. They used magnifying glasses to observe the two different soils. They also touched it to feel the different textures. Finally they were asked to put a few drops of water into each plate to see how the soil changed. When they were finished they had to answer questions about how the soils were alike and how they are different.
