Poetry

In Reading and Writing Workshop we have been focusing on Poetry. We have read various types of poems, such as Couplet, Haiku, Rhyming, Personification, I Am, Onomatopoeia, Listing, -ING. We are working on making a book of Poetry. The kids wrote "I AM POEMS" to hang on the bulletin board out in the hallway. They turned out to be something really special.

More Planting Fun

In Science we are still focusing on how plants grow... we planted some grass seeds today.. hopefully they will grow quickly so the kids can start to take care of them.. I know that tomorrow the first thing they are going to do is run into the classroom to check on the plants, and grass seeds.. :)

Fraction Action

In Math we have been focusing on learning about Fractions. I found this really great fraction project that looks like a gumball machine.. the kids need to roll a dice, and then color in gumballs to make fractions.. this was a really great hands on activity to learn how to make fractions.. learning math and having a great time doing it !
